2024 College football betting strategy: Proven expert shares top situational spots for Week 10
Last week, we lost our situational play on Georgia Tech (+11.5) in a 21-6 road loss to Virginia Tech. This defeated dropped our season record to 6-3 on top situational plays for the 2024 college football season and marked our first stretch of back-to-back losses on the top play.Â
The Yellow Jackets were felled mostly by inefficient offense and two costly turnovers. They outgained the Hokies 356-223 but a failure to finish off drives ultimately proved to be their undoing. Two early drives resulted in field goals while the Hokies managed a pair of first-half touchdowns.
Backup quarterback Zach Pyron, filling in for inured starter Haynes King, was pulled early in the second half after going 10-for-22 for 76 yards and an interception. Third stringer Aaron Philo was more effective, throwing for 184 yards but also had a late costly pick. The Yellow Jackets moved inside the Virginia Tech 25-yard line on three of their final four drives, but came up empty on all of them when one touchdown would have put them in position to cover the big number. Â
For Week 10 of the 2024 college football season, there are a couple of situational spots we have identified that appear favorable. We're posting just one for now, but might add another as the week progresses.Â
