2024 Big Ten futures odds: Conference winner picks, top longshots, win total best bets and more to know

Get ready for the 2024 college football season with our dive into the Big Ten Conference

The reigning national champions, four additions from the Pac-12 - including the College Football Playoff National Championship Game loser, the elimination of divisions, a slew of new head coaches. Welcome to the 2024 edition of the Big Ten Conference.

The Michigan Wolverines trounced the Washington Huskies last season to win their 12th national title, and now they welcome them - along with the Oregon Ducks, USC Trojans and UCLA Bruins - to the 18-team Big Ten, which has scrapped its two-division setup. With Oregon (No. 3) and USC (No. 23) joining the mix, the conference features six teams that are in the AP's preseason top-25 rankings.

Michigan begins the defense of its latest crown with a No. 9 ranking and a new head coach in Sherrone Moore, as Jim Harbaugh returned to the NFL to take the helm with the Los Angeles Chargers after guiding the Wolverines to a 15-0 record. The Ohio State Buckeyes (No. 2), Penn State Nittany Lions (No. 8) and Iowa Hawkeyes (No. 25) will be formidable challengers, and all could find themselves in the CFP, which has expanded to 12 teams this season.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers and Wisconsin Badgers also are dangerous teams, and the Northwestern Wildcats hope to continue to make strides following a remarkable turnaround that saw them finish with an 8-5 record last year after going 1-11 in 2022.

Before making any Big Ten bets for the 2024 season, you need to see what legendary college football handicapper Bruce Marshall has to say. Marshall now supplies his unique and colorful brand of football and basketball analysis to SportsLine members.

Now, Marshall has set his sights on the 2024 Big Ten season. He has revealed his best bets, including which team will win the conference title and which clubs to back in regard to their win totals. You ABSOLUTELY need to see what they are before making any Big Ten picks.
