2024 ACC futures odds: Conference winner picks, top longshots, win total best bets and more to know
The Atlantic Coast Conference is home to some of the top teams in college football, as four landed in the AP's 2024 preseason top-25 rankings. It also has expanded for the upcoming season, with the Stanford Cardinal and California Golden Bears arriving from the Pac-12 and the SMU Mustangs joining after an 11-year stint in the American Athletic Conference.
Of the 17 members of the ACC, 10 have captured the national championship, with the Clemson Tigers being the most recent winner in 2018. Clemson begins the season ranked 14th in the nation, while the Florida State Seminoles are No. 10, the Miami Hurricanes No. 19 and the North Carolina State Wolfpack No. 24. Florida State went 8-0 during conference play and 13-0 overall last year but controversially was omitted from the College Football Playoff. As a result, a plethora of key players opted out of the Orange Bowl, which the Seminoles lost 63-3 to the Georgia Bulldogs.
Many pundits believe Florida State again will be one of the top teams in the country despite a big turnover during the offseason. Clemson, Miami and North Carolina State also could find themselves in the CFP, which has expanded to 12 teams this season, while SMU, the Louisville Cardinals and the Virginia Tech Hokies figure to be strong contenders.Â
