2023 SportsLine Upset Bracket Full of Surprises

SportsLine simulated every possible matchup 10,000 times and the team that won over half the simulations was selected to advance. In order to "simulate the madness," we also assumed that the Nos. 3-6 seeds with the lowest win percentage when compared to other teams of the same seed would be upset. With this approach, we've nailed 18 double-digit seed upsets in the first round!

No. 6 Kentucky squeaks past No. 11 Providence, defeating the Friars in only 55% of simulations. No. 5 Duke, one of the most popular 2023 March Madness sleepers, gets ousted by No. 4 Tennessee in the second round and doesn't even make the Sweet 16. No. 10 USC defeats No. 7 Michigan State before falling to Marquette. Finally, in the critical 8 vs. 9 matchup, No 9 FAU defeats Penny Hardaway's Memphis Tigers.
