2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship odds, predictions: Picks and best bets for this week's PGA Tour event from a golf expert

Golf betting and fantasy expert Sia Nejad has broken down the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship and locked in his predictions and best bets

The PGA Tour's FedEx Cup Playoffs kick off this week when 70 players tee off in the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship beginning Thursday at TPC Southwind in Memphis. The top 50 players in the FedEx Cup standings after the FedEx St. Jude will qualify for the second leg of the playoffs, the BMW Championship next week outside Chicago. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is the favorite in the latest FedEx St. Jude odds, at +600. Jon Rahm (+850), Rory McIlroy (+850), Patrick Cantlay (+1400) and Xander Schauffele (+1800) round out the top five choices in the FedEx St. Jude field.

Before locking in any 2023 FedEx St. Jude picks, make sure you see the PGA Tour predictions and best bets from golf betting and fantasy expert Sia Nejad.

Nejad specializes in betting and DFS in golf, among other sports. He's had incredible success in the outright and first-round leader markets and in betting head-to-head matchups. The expert has been on fire on head-to-head matchups since the Charles Schwab Challenge, going 22-10-1 and returning 9.85 units over that span. That's a $985 profit for $100 bettors in the past 11 weeks.

Nejad also nailed 75-1 longshot Wyndham Clark as the outright winner at the Wells Fargo Championship. In 2023, SportsLine debuted "The Early Wedge," and in the first three months of the show, he hit two first-round leaders and three outright winners. Nejad also had a winning head-to-head record in seven of nine weeks. He was up more than 70 units over that three-month span.

Now, Nejad has been digging into the 2023 FedEx St. Jude field to find the best value and just locked in his best bets and favorites to avoid.

One surprise: Nejad is fading Xander Schauffele even though he is among the favorites at +1800. However, Nejad is high on the chances of Tyrrell Hatton, who is +2200. "He's been in great form with the ball-striking and putting, and I think he's primed for a breakout win," Nejad told SportsLine.

Moreover, Nejad is jumping on several underdogs, including one huge longshot who's priced at more than 80-1. This player "has contended with the big boys before" and is a longshot who could surprise. If he does, you could cash in HUGE. You need to see who it is before locking in any 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship picks of your own.

So which 2023 FedEx St. Jude players should you target or avoid? And which player could bring a big payday at more than 80-1? ...
