2023 British Open odds, picks: Proven golf model reveals projected leaderboard, surprising predictions

The SportsLine Projection Model simulated the 2023 Open Championship 10,000 times and came up with a shocking leaderboard

The fourth and final major of the year is set to get underway when the 2023 Open Championship tees off from Royal Liverpool on Thursday, July 20. This will be the 13th time that The Open will be played at Royal Liverpool. Cameron Smith enters the 2023 Open Championship as the defending champion.

Caesars Sportsbook lists Rory McIlroy, fresh off his Scottish Open win, as the +525 favorite (risk $100 to win $525). He's followed by Scottie Scheffler at +750, Jon Rahm (12-1), Rickie Fowler (12-1), Tommy Fleetwood (15-1), Victor Hovland (15-1) and Smith (15-1) in the latest 2023 Open Championship odds.

We simulated the 2023 Open Championship 10,000 times, and there are some MAJOR surprises. Join SportsLine here to see the model's shocking 2023 Open Championship projected leaderboard.

Our proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been RED-HOT since the PGA Tour resumed in June of 2020. In fact, the model is up almost $10,000 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

McClure's model predicted Jon Rahm would finish on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. And at the 2023 Masters, the model was all over Rahm's second career major victory heading into the weekend. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the third round, but the model still projected him as the winner. It was the second straight Masters win for the model, which also nailed Scottie Scheffler winning in 2022.

In addition, the model included Nick Taylor in its best bets to win the 2023 RBC Canadian Open. That bet hit at +7000, and for the entire tournament, McClure's best bets returned nearly $1,900. McClure's best bets also included Jason Day (17-1) winning outright at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson, even though he hadn't won a PGA Tour event since 2018.

This same model has also nailed a whopping nine majors entering the weekend! Anyone who has followed it has seen MASSIVE returns! Join SportsLine now to see the model's shocking Open Championship picks from 10,000 simulations!

The Open Championship is the lone major that takes place outside of the United States. Royal Liverpool has hosted the Open Championship 12 times in its history. The last time The Open was played at Royal Liverpool, Rory McIlroy finished on top of the leaderboard with a score of 17-under par. The winner of the Open Championship receives the coveted Claret Jug.

One major surprise the model is calling for at the Open Championship 2023: Jordan Spieth, a three-time major champion, stumbles at Royal Liverpool and doesn't even crack the top 10! Another surprise: Tyrell Hatton, a 25-1 longshot, makes a strong run at the title. He's a target for anyone looking for a HUGE payday!

Also, the model is targeting THREE other golfers with 2023 Open Championship odds of 25-1 or longer who will make a STRONG run at the title! Anyone who backs these golfers could hit it BIG. You ABSOLUTELY need to see who they are before locking in any 2023 Open Championship picks!

So who wins the Open Championship 2023, and which HUGE longshots make a serious run at the title? ... Join SportsLine right now to see who you can bank on to win the 2023 Open Championship, and see which longshots make a run at the title, all from the model that's nailed 9 majors, including this year's Masters!
