After one of the weakest PGA Tour events of the season, most of the world's top players are in the United Kingdom this week for the 2022 Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club. The year's final major is next week at St. Andrews, and the links course in North Berwick, Scotland is a great place to prepare. The event is co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour and DP World Tour for the first time, and the Scotland Open 2022 field is stacked with talent. U.S. Open champ Matt Fitzpatrick lost in a three-man playoff last year and is back along with winner Min Woo Lee. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas and reigning British Open champ Collin Morikawa are among the many stars set to compete.

Rahm finished seventh in the event last year and is the 11-1 favorite in the latest 2022 Scottish Open odds from Caesars Sportsbook. Thomas and Scheffler are next in line at 12-1, and Fitzpatrick (18-1), Xander Schauffele (18-1) and 2021 FedEx Cup champion Patrick Cantlay (22-1) also are top contenders.

The two-time major champ tied for fifth at the U.S. Open in his last tournament, but Gates expects him to be distracted by his task for next week at St. Andrews. He typically hasn't fared well the week before majors.
