2022 NFL Week 1 Bills vs. Rams odds: Buffalo expert reveals picks, predictions for NFL Kickoff Game

SportsLine expert Mike Tierney, who is 12-7-1 in his recent spread picks involving the Bills, has revealed his prediction for the Sept. 8 opener as Buffalo visits Los Angeles

The 2022 NFL Kickoff Game is Thursday, and the reigning Super Bowl-champion Los Angeles Rams will begin their title defense with a tough test against the Buffalo Bills. The Bills are +600 to win the 2023 Super Bowl, according to Caesars Sportsbook, while the Rams are +1100. The Bills lost to the Chiefs 42-36 in overtime in an AFC Divisional playoff game in January, while L.A. beat the Bengals in the Super Bowl 23-20 three weeks later.

Kickoff in Inglewood, Calif. is set for 8:20 p.m. ET. Caesars Sportsbook lists Buffalo as a 2.5-point favorite in its latest Bills vs. Rams odds, with the over/under for total points scored set at 52.5.

Before you make any Rams vs. Bills picks or NFL predictions of your own, you NEED to hear what NFL expert Mike Tierney has to say.

A veteran sportswriter whose work appears periodically in the New York Times and Los Angeles Times, Tierney has covered the NFL for decades and reported from seven Super Bowls. Mike does not consider himself a pet lover. But he likes 'dogs, preferring to evaluate each game from the underdog's point of view.

Over the past four seasons, Mike is 232-204 ATS in the NFL. He is also 12-7-1 on his past 20 against-the-spread picks involving the Bills, returning more than $400 to $100 bettors.

Tierney knows the Bills are the favorite of the betting public and were a top-five team on both sides of the ball last season. They had the No. 1 overall defense, allowing just 273 yards per game. Buffalo scored 28 points per game (third in NFL) and allowed 17 per contest (first). Allen threw for 4,407 yards and 36 touchdowns, while wideout Stefon Diggs had 1,225 yards on 103 catches with 10 TDs.

The expert also has considered that Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for 4,886 yards in 2021 with 41 TD passes, the second-most in the league. Cooper Kupp scored 16 of those and remains his top option after catching 145 balls for 1,947 yards. Both marks rank second in league history.

Now, Tierney has locked in another confident against the spread pick for Bills vs. Rams. We can tell you he's leaning Under the total, but he has found a crucial X-factor that makes one side of the spread a MUST-BACK! You ABSOLUTELY need to see what it is before locking in any picks of your own.
