2022 Masters odds, projections: Proven golf model reveals surprising picks, best bets for Augusta National
The first major of the year gets underway on Thursday, April 7, when the 2022 Masters tees off from Augusta National Golf Club. Jon Rahm is the 10-1 favorite in the 2022 Masters odds at Caesars Sportsbook, followed by Justin Thomas (14-1), Dustin Johnson (16-1), Cameron Smith (16-1), Scottie Scheffler (16-1), and Rory McIlroy (18-1) on the PGA odds board. Hideki Matsuyama (40-1) is the defending champion and will try to become the first golfer since Tiger Woods (2001-02) to win the Masters in back-to-back years. Woods is still in the 2022 Masters field and listed at 40-1.
We simulated the Masters 2022 10,000 times, and there are some MAJOR surprises.
Our proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been RED-HOT since the PGA Tour resumed in June of 2020. In fact, the model is up over $8,000 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.
At the 2021 Open Championship, McClure's best bets included Collin Morikawa winning outright even though he was listed as a massive 40-1 long shot. In addition, McClure's model was all over Jon Rahm's (10-1) first career major championship victory at the 2021 U.S. Open. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the weekend, but the model still projected him as the winner.Â
This same model has also nailed a whopping seven majors entering the weekend! Anyone who has followed it has seen MASSIVE returns!
One major surprise the model is calling for at the Masters 2022: McIlroy, a 20-time PGA Tour champion and one of the top favorites, stumbles at Augusta and doesn't even crack the top 10! McIlroy has been one of the hottest players on tour this season, securing a victory at the CJ Cup and finishing 13th or better in three of his last four starts.
The model has also examined where Tiger Woods finishes. In recent days, Woods Tweeted, "I will be heading up to Augusta today to continue my preparation and practice. It will be a game-time decision on whether I compete."
Also, the model is targeting FOUR golfers with odds of 20-1 or longer who will make a STRONG run at the title! Anyone who backs these long shots could hit it BIG.
So who wins the 2022 Masters? Where does Tiger Woods finish, and should you back him at 40-1? And which HUGE long shots make a serious run at the title? ... Join SportsLine right now to see who you can bank on to win the Masters Tournament 2022, and see which long shots make a run at the title, all from the model that nailed seven majors!
