Prior to the season, I thought the Red Raiders (1-3) would have a good year. That hasn't happened yet, but Saturday could be a get-right spot for Texas Tech. Houston lost its only game this season against a Power 5 foe, TCU, by 23 and lost its only road game, at Rice. Coach Dana Holgorsen seems to be on his last legs as Cougars coach. Meanwhile, I expect Red Raiders quarterback Behren Morton to be much better 1) playing at home and 2) after a week of practice knowing he'll be the starter. I'll take Tech.
Houston and Texas Tech both throw the football more than 50% of the time and both play very fast especially the Red Raiders who are ranked #2 in pace. Houston has gone over in two of their last three games while Texas Tech has scored 30 or more points in three of their four games. Last year Texas Tech won 33-30. I respect the Circa Resort Sportsbook numbers and they opened this game 60.
