Ole Miss’s loss to Alabama last Saturday was not a surprise. The shocker was the offense’s inability to produce points at a high rate. Returning home the pressure is now on Lane Kiffin and his offense to execute against a formidable ranked SEC opponent in Arkansas. After last week's shutout against Georgia, I look for the Razorbacks to refocus. Take the points here with Arkansas.
Both teams are coming off a loss. Ole Miss was my 10th-ranked team to start the year. Coach Lane Kiffin has done a great job of elevating the talent level and bring a winning attitude to the team. Georgia steamrolled Arkansas 37-0 as a 16.5-point favorite. I started the Rebels at a 118.5 rating and I’m up to 120. Arkansas has gone up from 104.5 to 112. I seriously had the Razorbacks underrated but feel comfortable with their current status. I have an eight-point advantage in talent and a five-point edge for home field for Ole Miss, which will have revenge on its mind after losing 33-21 at Arkansas last year.
An interesting matchup as we catch both Arkansas and Ole Miss coming off what will likely be both their worst losses of this season. I trust Ole Miss' offense to bounce back at home...but Arkansas worries me a bit. There might be some residual stink still lingering after what Georgia just did to them. Couple that with an early kick on the road, the Rebels might catch the Hogs sleepwalking just a bit. Lane Kiffin has covered 8 of his last 11 as a favorite.
