Unless Stanford's rush defense changes completely overnight, Oregon might have a field day on the ground. The Cardinal give up 5.3 yards per rush and the Ducks are averaging 200+ yards rushing per game. Couple that with Oregon's defense +12 in turnovers this season, I'll eat the 8 points with confidence. The only thing worse than Stanford in a conference loss is Stanford *after* a conference loss, 1-7 ATS in its last eight.
This feels like stealing. Oregon is two scores better than everybody else in the Pac-12, so to catch the Ducks laying only eight here is a gift. Stanford's defense has been Charmin soft and I see Oregon pushing them around all afternoon. The Cardinal do have some explosiveness in the pass game on offense, but overall they're inconsistent and have struggled moving the ball against better defenses like Oregon's.
As we saw last week against UCLA, Stanford can’t stop the run. Now the Cardinal have to face the best running back in the country, CJ Verdell. Verdell already has six total TDs and is averaging a 5.6 yards per carry. Last season, Oregon put a 35-14 beatdown on Stanford with Verdell going for 135 total yards and a score. Lay the points.
