Cincinnati is athletic and can score, but Houston may be the best defensive team in the entire country. Likewise, Cincy is also strong on the defensive end. I expect the Cougars to play their typical smothering defense and win what I believe will be a somewhat ugly Big 12 Conference matchup.
I don’t see the Coogs letting up even at the end of a tough run that saw wins against Texas, Iowa State and Baylor. Because while Houston has been checking boxes with wins against the best teams in the Big 12, the Bearcats have lost four of their last five games and looked particularly disappointing in defeat the last two times out against Oklahoma State and TCU. Wes Miller is 0-7 against Kelvin Sampson since taking over at Cincinnati and I don’t think this is the timing or the setting to see that trend reversed.
