2020 Heisman Trophy odds: Bettors crushing Alabama's Najee Harris and Florida's Kyle Trask

Like the NFL MVP Award, the Heisman Trophy generally only goes to quarterbacks on very good teams these days. For example, this century just three running backs have won the Heisman: USC's Reggie Bush (since vacated) in 2005, Alabama's Mark Ingram in 2009 and the Tide's Derrick Henry in 2015.
Might surprise some to learn that Ingram and Henry are the only two Heisman winners in Alabama history. The 2020 starter at tailback will be Najee Harris, and he's a +5000 longer shot to win the award at William Hill sportsbook. However, bettors at the site are heavy on Harris as 11 percent of all tickets issued on the Heisman prop are on him – more than any other player. A total of 10 percent of all money wagered is on Harris, third-most.
Harris did have a strong 2019 campaign, rushing for 1,224 yards and 13 touchdowns while catching 27 passes for 304 yards and seven scores. He's one of four Heisman candidates on the Tide, though, joining QB Mac Jones and wideouts Jaylen Waddle and DeVonta Smith. Jones at +2200 has easily the shortest odds.
The shortest odds of any running back nationally belong to Oklahoma State's Chuba Hubbard at +2200. He led the nation in rushing last season and considered turning pro but decided to return to Stillwater.
Another player somewhat off the radar taking huge betting action is Florida quarterback Kyle Trask. Priced at +3000, Trask is taking the second-biggest handle in terms of money at 21 percent and third-most overall bets at nine percent. Trask didn't begin last season as the starter but is the clear-cut guy now. He completed 66.9 percent of his passes for 2,941 yards, 25 TDs and seven picks in 12 games (10 starts).
Could LSU have back-to-back Heisman winners? Joe Burrow was a massive long shot entering the 2019 season but won the Heisman in record-setting fashion and will be the No. 1 overall pick in this month's NFL Draft. Burrow's replacement in 2020 will be Myles Brennan, who is +2800.
Quarterbacks Justin Fields of Ohio State and Trevor Lawrence of Clemson are the +350 and +400 Heisman favorites, respectively.
