Kenny Golladay next NFL team odds: Giants, Dolphins, Ravens, Bengals favorites for former Lions Pro Bowl receiver
Former Detroit Lions Pro Bowler Kenny Golladay is considered easily the best wide receiver on the free-agent market, with CBS Sports' Pete Prisco ranking Golladay as the No. 10 overall free agent on the board – the Top 9 all have either re-signed with their 2020 team or been slapped with the franchise tag. Something could be coming soon with Golladay – who will not be returning to Detroit – and SportsLine has updated odds on his next team.
The only known offer the 27-year-old Golladay has received thus far is a one-year, "prove-it" contract from the Cincinnati Bengals. It seems unlikely that Golladay would take that considering he previously turned down a long-term extension from the Lions paying around $18 million per season. The Bengals may want Golladay to prove he can stay healthy after missing 11 games in 2020 and playing all 16 just once in his four seasons.
Golladay alongside rising young star Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd would give Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow an impressive trio.
Former Cincinnati receiver AJ Green left in free agency and signed with Arizona on Wednesday.
According to reports, Golladay is going to visit with the New York Giants perhaps as early as today and it will include a physical. Big Blue has a glaring need at wideout with its only two capable receivers being Darius Slayton and injury-prone Sterling Shepard. If the Giants signed Golladay, they could fill another position of need (edge rusher?) with their No. 11 overall pick in the draft.
Numerous Giants players want the team to sign Golladay. Star running back Saquon Barkley has favorited multiple tweets about the possibility that the team would be signing Golladay and retweeted one tweet that said "RT (retweet) if you want the Giants to sign WR Kenny Golladay today."
The Dolphins have been strangely quiet in free agency so far. The Miami Herald's Barry Jackson tweeted on Thursday that the "Dolphins' reluctance so far to easily clear out cap space with restructures in order to sign a Reddick or Samuel (both off board) or ANY above average starting edge guy or WR remains most puzzling and deflating storyline of Dolphins free agency."
Neither the Giants nor Dolphins had a player with more than 793 receiving yards in 2020.
The New York Jets were seen as a possible Golladay suitor but no longer are thought to be after signing the Titans' Corey Davis and still interested in ex-Steeler JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Jacksonville is likely out of the Golladay market after signing another former Lion, Marvin Jones Jr. Baltimore has been extremely quiet but could swoop in for Golladay if he leaves the Giants without a deal. That would be typical Ravens.Â
