2022 NFL futures odds: Tampa Bay Buccaneers with highest in-division win total of any team
I've been in this industry for about two decades and I can't say that I remember seeing this prop before: Caesars Sportsbook is offering Over/Under totals on how many games teams will win just inside their division – obviously all clubs play six such games. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are given the highest total at 4.5 for their games in the NFC South. The Over is a slight favorite.
No question that the Bucs have the best quarterback in the division by about a million miles in Tom Brady. The Saints will be starting Jameis Winston, the Falcons Marcus Mariota after trading Matt Ryan, and the Panthers likely settling on Sam Darnold unless they end up acquiring Baker Mayfield.
Tampa Bay was 4-2 against divisional foes last year, losing at New Orleans in Week 8 and at home to the Saints in Week 15 – for some reason, New Orleans has had Tampa's regular-season number for a few years. There are lines out there for every NFL game this season and the Buccaneers aren't underdogs against any divisional foe.
The Bucs will be playing for new head coach Todd Bowles, the team's former defensive coordinator. He will run his first mandatory minicamp starting Tuesday. Future Hall of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski won't be there as he's still undecided on retirement. The Tampa Bay Times has reported that Gronk likely will commit to play before training camp.
The lowest win total available on this in-division prop is 2.0 victories for the Texans in the AFC South, Falcons in the NFC South, Seahawks in the NFC West and Jets in the AFC East.
Every team in the NFL had at least one in-division victory in 2021. The only unbeaten team was Dallas, which is set at Over/Under 4.0 this year in the NFC East. Probably the best overall division is the AFC West given how much better Las Vegas, the LA Chargers and Denver have gotten as they chase Kansas City, which has won the West six years running. The Chiefs are set at 3.5 wins, the Chargers 3.5, the Broncos 3.0 and the Raiders 2.5.Â
