Super Bowl 55 Chiefs vs. Bucs odds, props, bets: Tom Brady to score rushing touchdown? Bettors saying absolutely not

NFL bettors may be surprised what general Super Bowl 55 prop is taking the most action at William Hill Sportsbook.

Tom Brady may well be the best quarterback in NFL history as he chases a seventh Super Bowl ring Sunday in Super Bowl 55 against the Kansas City Chiefs. However, Brady is definitely not among the most fleet of foot QBs in league history. The former University of Michigan star infamously ran a snail-like 5.28-second 40-yard dash at the 2000 NFL Combine, which was part of the reason he lasted until the 199th pick of that draft until the Patriots snapped Brady up. Bettors at William Hill Sportsbook are going crazy in one direction on a prop: Whether Brady will have a rushing touchdown vs. Kansas City.

Brady may hold every major NFL passing record by the time he retires, but he has rushed for just 1,043 yards in his career on 636 carries, an average of just 1.6 yards per carry. He does have 25 career rushing TDs and had three in the 2020 regular season, but at this point in his career it's only going to happen on a sneak at the goal line.

In his postseason career, Brady has rushed 109 times for 135 yards and seven scores. He hadn't had a rushing TD since 2015 until a 1-yard sneak in the divisional round game at New Orleans that made it 30-20 in favor of the Bucs with under five minutes left.

William Hill opened the prop on whether Brady would have a rushing touchdown in Super Bowl 55 at +210 on the moneyline for yes and -250 for no. However, the most money wagered at the book on any general prop has been on no, which has pushed that price to -440.

Rather hilariously, the site gives Brady an Over/Under of 0.5 yards rushing, with the Under a -170 favorite. That Brady is the first TD scorer of the game – which would have to be on a rush or a reception – is +2800.

The other two most-wagered general props in terms of money bet is that the Bucs (-110) have more rushing yards than the Chiefs; and no that either team will miss two or more field goals at -650.

Kansas City kicker Harrison Butker has missed only three field goals in 32 attempts this season including playoffs, while Tampa Bay's Ryan Succop has also missed only three in 39 combined attempts.
