Suns vs. Warriors Tuesday NBA injury report, odds: Steph Curry set to return, Chris Paul among many Phoenix players sitting

Steph Curry is expected back from injury tonight for the Warriors vs. the Suns.

A potential Western Conference playoff preview will be played Tuesday night when Phoenix visits Golden State, but the game itself will look nothing like a possible postseason matchup because the Suns might be without nearly every good player they have due to injury. On the flip side, the Warriors are expected to welcome back two-time MVP Stephen Curry from a shoulder injury and are 11-point favorites at Caesars Sportsbook.

For the Suns, we know All-Star guards Chris Paul and Devin Booker won't play. Paul missed Sunday's loss to Cleveland with a sore hip and will need at least one more game to recover. Booker is still at least a few weeks away with his groin injury. Cameron Johnson and Cameron Payne are both out as well, while former No. 1 overall pick Deandre Ayton, Landry Shamet and Torrey Craig are all questionable.

Only eight total players are not listed by Phoenix on the injury report: guards Josh Okogie and Duane Washington Jr., wings Mikal Bridges, Damion Lee and Ish Wainright, and big men Jock Landale, Dario Saric and Bismack Biyombo. It's a ragtag group, to say the least.

It feels like a punt game for Phoenix, which has lost six in a row and 14 of 18 to fall to one game below .500. The Suns have failed to reach 100 points in four straight games, the longest such stretch for the team since March 2018.

Curry hasn't played since Dec. 14 because of his shoulder injury. Head coach Steve Kerr had targeted Friday for his return, but Curry has been upgraded from questionable to probable for Tuesday's game. He was off to another MVP-caliber start, averaging 30.0 points, 6.8 assists and 6.6 rebounds, before getting hurt. There aren't any props up yet on him tonight at the various sportsbooks, but they should be available soon.

The Warriors have gone 6-5 without Curry, not including the game against Indiana during which he was injured, and are 6-8 overall without him this season. Curry has made at least one three-pointer in an NBA-record 215 consecutive regular-season games.

Fellow All-Star guard Klay Thompson will play after missing Saturday's game vs. Orlando as a late scratch. Andrew Wiggins had missed 15 games with a groin injury before returning for that shocking home loss to the Magic.

Thus, the Warriors should have their primary starting lineup of Curry, Thompson, Wiggins, Draymond Green and Kevon Looney available for just the 20th time this season (the team is 11-8 when they play) and for the first time since Dec. 2.
