Lakers vs. Knicks Tuesday NBA injury report, odds, props: Bettors mixed on spread, LeBron James set at 27.5 points

Lakers at Knicks is the marquee NBA matchup on Tuesday.

LeBron James' favorite venue as a visiting player is Madison Square Garden in New York, and James will play in the "World's Most Famous Arena" for the first time since 2020 on Tuesday when the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Knicks, who are -2 at Caesars Sportsbook. James is listed questionable but will play after getting Monday night in Brooklyn off and is set at over/under 27.5 points. Anthony Davis is listed as probable.

Lakers-Knicks is the most-wagered NBA game of the night at Caesars. New York taking 62% of the tickets and Los Angeles is getting 62% of the handle.

James is 117 points shy of breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's all-time NBA record of 38,387 points. He'll likely claim the record either next Tuesday vs. Oklahoma City or next Thursday vs. Milwaukee, with both games in Los Angeles. James is averaging 30.2 points per game this season and 34.3 points this month. Tuesday's 27.5-point prop seems a bit small, although the Over is a -137 favorite.

James could also move into the top five in career assists tonight. With 10,327 career helpers, he is seven behind No. 5 Mark Jackson (10,334) and eight back of No. 4 Steve Nash (10,335). John Stockton (15,806), Jason Kidd (12,091) and Suns guard Chris Paul (11,246 and counting) make up the top three. James is set at over/under 6.5 assists against the Knicks.

The Lakers have ruled out starting point guard and defensive pest Patrick Beverley in the second of a back-to-back. Beverley played 35 minutes during Monday's loss to Brooklyn. Lonnie Walker will likely take his starting spot.

New York doesn't have anyone on the injury report other than center Mitchell Robinson, who hasn't played since Jan. 18 due to a broken thumb and isn't close to a return. Knicks star Julius Randle, a former Laker, is averaging 25.3 points, 11.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists over the last eight games. He's -374 for a double-double tonight and +247 to fail to record one.

This is the first meeting of the season between the Knicks and Lakers. New York has won the past two in the series at the Garden.
