Yankees vs. Phillies odds, lines: Advanced computer model reveals picks for April 3, 2023, matchup

SportsLine's Projection Model has generated picks for Monday's matchup between the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees

The Philadelphia Phillies will seek their first win of the season when they face the New York Yankees in a series-opener on Monday night. Philadelphia was swept by Texas over the weekend, getting outscored 29-11 in those three games. New York shut out San Francisco twice in its opening series, including a 6-0 win to clinch the series victory on Sunday.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET at Yankee Stadium in New York City. New York is listed as a -180 favorite (risk $180 to win $100) while Philadelphia is a +150 underdog on the money line in the latest Yankees vs. Phillies odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the over/under for total runs scored is 8 (see the latest lines for every game on our MLB odds page).

Before making any Phillies vs. Yankees picks, you NEED to see the latest MLB predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

This model simulates every MLB game 10,000 times. It went 331-285 on top-rated MLB money-line picks (+357) over the past two seasons, and it finished the 2022 MLB season on a 20-14 roll. Anybody who has followed it has seen profitable returns!

The model knows Philadelphia is expected to send Taijuan Walker to the mound. He went 12-5 with a 3.49 ERA and 132 strikeouts with the Mets last season. Walker pitched 157.1 innings last season and said he is aiming for 180 innings this season, which would be a career high. The 30-year-old signed a four-year, $72 million contract in December and has been working to induce softer contact during the offseason.

The model also knows New York will turn to left-handed pitcher Nestor Cortes. He is coming off a strong campaign with the Yankees, posting a 2.44 ERA with 163 strikeouts en route to a 12-4 record. Cortes also threw 12 innings across three starts in the playoffs, finishing with a 4.50 ERA. He finished spring training with a 4.76 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and an 11:4 K:BB. Cortes was dealing with a hamstring issue early in camp, but he recovered in time to make three starts.

Now, it has set its sights on Yankees vs. Phillies. We can tell you the model is leaning Over on the total, projecting 8.7 combined runs, and it also says one side of the money line has ALL the value! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any MLB picks of your own.

So who wins Phillies vs. Yankees? And which side of the money line has ALL the value? ...
