Xavier vs. Georgetown odds, line: Proven model reveals college basketball picks for Dec. 16, 2022, Big East Conference-opening matchup

SportsLine's projection model generated selections for Friday's Big East Conference showdown between the Xavier Musketeers and Georgetown Hoyas

The Xavier Musketeers look to get off to another fast start in Big East Conference play when they take on the Georgetown Hoyas on Friday night. The Musketeers (8-3) have won five of their last six Big East openers, and are coming off a 79-59 win over Southern on Tuesday. Xavier has been red hot of late, winning four in a row after a rough patch that saw the Musketeers lose three games to ranked opponents. The Hoyas (5-6), meanwhile, have lost three of four, including an 83-65 decision at Syracuse on Saturday.

The game from Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., tips off at 6:30 p.m. ET. Xavier is favored by 11 points at Caesars Sportsbook, while the over/under for total points is set at 153.5 (see up-to-date odds for every game this week on our college basketball odds page).

The model also knows Georgetown sophomore guard Primo Spears has been on fire of late, and finished with 22 points in Saturday's loss at Syracuse. He has scored 20 or more points five times this season, including a high of 28 points in a 99-89 season-opening overtime win over Coppin State.
