WNBA odds, lines, picks: Proven experts reveal parlay for July 14 that would pay almost 6-1

Calvin Wetzel and Aaron Barzilai went 590-430 on their women's NCAA basketball picks this season, and now they are focused on the WNBA. They have identified a three-leg parlay for Thursday that would pay almost 6-1

The Eastern Conference-leading Chicago Sky (17-6) seek their third consecutive victory when they visit the Los Angeles Sparks (10-13) on Thursday, with tip-off scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET. Chicago, which owns a two-game lead over Connecticut, began the 2022 WNBA season with an overtime loss to the Sparks at home but rolled to an 82-59 victory at Los Angeles on June 23.

The game is one of four on Thursday's WNBA schedule. Caesars Sportsbook lists Chicago as a five-point favorite in the latest Sky vs. Sparks odds, and the over/under for total points scored is 164.5.

Before you make any WNBA picks or parlays, you NEED to see what women's basketball experts Calvin Wetzel and Aaron Barzilai are saying.

Barzilai is a Ph.D. from Stanford who served as Director of Basketball Analytics for the Philadelphia 76ers. Five years ago, he founded HerHoopStats.com -- a groundbreaking website that unlocks insights about the women's game. Wetzel, the site's lead betting writer, incorporates his mathematical background and strong knowledge of women's hoops to turn the site's prediction model into picks.

Now, Barzilai and Wetzel have turned their attention to the WNBA after going 590-430 overall (+127.40 units, +13.6 percent) during the 2021-22 women's college basketball season. Anyone who has followed them has seen HUGE returns.

Wetzel and Barzilai have scoured the rosters and broken down the matchups for Thursday's games. They have revealed a three-leg parlay that could lead to a payout of almost 6-1.

We can tell you that one part of the parlay is the Sky (-5) covering the spread in their game against the Sparks. Chicago has won seven of its last eight contests, with six of the victories coming by eight or more points.

The experts have two other strong plays that MUST be in your three-leg parlays, including an over/under pick that should be backed. You ABSOLUTELY need to see the experts' selections before locking in any WNBA picks or parlays.

So which over/under play is a MUST-BACK? And what other picks are the experts sharing? ... Join SportsLine right now to find out which picks you should be all over on Thursday, all from the experts who know the women's game inside and out!

Here are Wetzel and Barzilai's best bets for Thursday's WNBA schedule:

LAS VEGAS ACES at NEW YORK LIBERTY | 7/14 | 11 A.M. ET

    Pick: Under 172

The Aces face the Liberty for the third straight time, and after the first two meetings both cleared 200 points, it might seem crazy to take the Under this time around. That is, until you look at why those games went Over.

The first featured a combined 31-of-58 shooting performance from 3-point range, an astronomical percentage, and the second saw New York make a furious late rally that gave us lots of free throws and short possessions to end the fourth quarter.

We're getting a high line here because of those results. We should see some regression, however, especially with an 11 a.m. local start time. These early games historically have been great for Unders.

    CHICAGO SKY at LOS ANGELES SPARKS | 7/14 | 10:30 P.M. ET

    Pick: Sky -5

Considering the defending champs, who once again are in first place, are taking on a team that may miss the playoffs, this line feels a little disrespectful. Yes, the Sky are on the road after playing at home just two days earlier and will be tipping off at 9:30 p.m. on their body clocks. But these are two teams separated by 17.1 points per 100 possessions over the last 10 games.

It's also important to keep in mind that Sparks star Nneka Ogwumike missed Tuesday's game with an illness, and there's no guarantee she suits up for this contest. Even with her in the lineup, Chicago should win by more than two possessions. If Ogwumike sits out, the Sky may win by double figures.

    Pick: Over 164.5

This is another line from the same game that may be discounted due to an overreaction to travel. While the Sky will be coming off a cross-country commercial flight, that shouldn't tire them out enough after just having enjoyed the All-Star break that they slow down this significantly.

Chicago has cleared this line in nine of its last 11 games, and there's no reason to believe Los Angeles will be the exception, as the Sparks are fourth in the league in pace. Both previous matchups hit at least 84 possessions per 40 minutes, which means at 168 possessions, we wouldn't even need the teams to score a full point per possession in order to hit this mark.
