Vikings vs. Packers NFL Week 1 lines, odds, predictions: Proven NFL model reveals picks for Sunday afternoon matchup

SportsLine's projection model simulated Green Bay vs.Minnesota 10,000 times and released its NFL Week 1 picks and best bets

The Minnesota Vikings will host their NFC North rival on Sunday when the Green Bay Packers visit U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis to kick off the 2022 NFL season. The NFL Week 1 contest is the 122nd regular-season meeting between the teams, and lately it has gone a long way in determining the NFC North champion. Green Bay is the current title-holder after going 13-4 last season, while Minnesota was 8-9 but still finished second in the North.

Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET. Minnesota is a 2-point favorite in the latest Packers vs. Vikings odds from Caesars Sportsbook, and the Over/Under for total points scored is 46.5. Before you make any Vikings vs. Packers picks of your own, you NEED to check out the NFL predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up over $7,500 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception. The model enters the 2022 NFL season on an incredible 138-97 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season. Amazingly, it hasn't missed a top-rated pick since Week 15 last season.

The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past six years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94 percent of CBS Sports Football Pick'em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is WAY UP!

The model knows Green Bay still has Aaron Rodgers at quarterback after he won his fourth league MVP award in 2021. The 38-year-old threw for 4,115 yards and 17 TDs last season, with a minuscule four interceptions. He is the only QB to throw more than 500 passes in a season with four or fewer interceptions, and he has done it three times. Davante Adams is gone, but big things are expected from rookie receivers Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, and Minnesota had the fifth-worst pass defense (253 yards per game).

The model also has considered that Minnesota is revamping its defense and that the personnel on offense can score points. Oft-maligned QB Kirk Cousins threw for 4,221 yards and 33 TDs, with just seven interceptions, and Justin Jefferson had 1,606 yards on 108 catches. Adam Thielen and Jefferson form a dangerous receiving duo, and both receivers scored 10 TDs in 2021. Dalvin Cook rushed for 1,159 yards in 13 games, averaging 4.7 per carry. The Vikings tied for fewest turnovers in the league last season with 13.

The model has taken an in-depth look at the Packers vs. Vikings matchup from all sides and revealed its picks. We can tell you the model is leaning Over on the point total, and it also says one side of the spread has all of the value! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any NFL picks.
