Travis Kelce futures odds: After historic night, Chiefs tight end now betting favorite to lead NFL in receiving touchdowns

Travis Kelce had a game to remember on Monday as Kansas City beat Las Vegas.

No tight end has led the NFL in receiving touchdowns since future Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski set the single-season record for the position in 2011 with 17 while playing with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. That record is in some possible jeopardy as after four receiving TDs in Monday's win over the Raiders, Chiefs Pro Bowl tight end Travis Kelce leads the NFL with seven and is the new +300 favorite at DraftKings to end up No. 1 in the league in that category.

The most receiving scores in a game is five, a feat accomplished by three players: The Chicago Cardinals' Bob Shaw in 1950, the San Diego Chargers' Kellen Winslow in 1981 and the San Francisco 49ers' Jerry Rice in 1990. Winslow was a tight end and also had his record day against the Raiders. Kelce was the fourth tight end in NFL history with four receiving TDs in a game.

Even more amazing, Kelce totaled seven catches for only 25 yards on the night. His scores were from the 1-yard line (twice), 4-yard line and 8-yard line. Prior to Kelce, 93 yards was the fewest receiving yards any player had ever gained in a game in which he caught four receiving touchdowns. That was Marvin Jones with the Detroit Lions in 2019 when he caught 10 passes for 93 yards and four touchdowns in a loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Besides Jones and Kelce, every other player in NFL history who has caught four touchdowns in a game has also finished with at least 100 receiving yards.

The fewest rushing yards ever in a game with four touchdowns was the 37 gained by the Baltimore Ravens' Jamal Lewis against the Seattle Seahawks in 2007. The fewest all-purpose yards in a game with four TDs was by Chargers running back Danny Woodhead in 2015 vs. the Miami Dolphins.

Kelce's seven TDs are only two shy of his total from all of last year. His career high is 11 in 2020. Kelce leads Bills receiver Stefon Diggs (+500) and Raiders wideout Davante Adams (+600), who both have five. Las Vegas is off this week and Adams may be looking at a suspension for pushing a photographer as he left the field at Arrowhead Stadium. TMZ reports the photographer has filed a police report against Adams.
