Texans' C.J. Stroud, Dolphins' De'Von Achane make big moves on 2023 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds board

Houston's C.J. Stroud is now taking the most action to win 2023 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Last week, we wrote that Los Angeles Rams fifth-round receiver Puka Nacua was taking the most action of any player at DraftKings to win 2023 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year with the young wideout off to a historic two-game start. While he was solid again in Week 3 vs. Cincinnati, the two players who took the biggest jump on this prop at the book in terms of action were Houston quarterback C.J. Stroud and Miami running back De'Von Achane.

While Falcons running back Bijan Robinson remains the +300 OROY favorite, Stroud is up to a +450 second favorite and is now No. 1 in tickets and handle at the book following Week 3. The No. 2 overall pick out of Ohio State led an impressive 37-17 upset win in Jacksonville. He threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's victory, and his rating has gone up every week. Stroud is the first QB in NFL history to have at least 900 passing yards, four passing touchdowns and zero interceptions in his first three career starts.

He is the third player in NFL history with at least 900 passing yards in his first three career games, joining Cam Newton (1,012 passing yards in 2011) and Justin Herbert (931 in 2020). Both won NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Stroud is the only one of the three with zero picks in during that run, and in fact is the youngest player in NFL history with 900 passing yards and zero interceptions in any three-game span, surpassing Patrick Mahomes.

Stroud will face his toughest defense yet Sunday in the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers, who lead the NFL in sacks (13) and quarterback hits (26). The Texans are winless in 10 straight home games (0-9-1).

Achane was non-factor on the OROY odds board entering Week 3. The third-round pick didn't play in Week 1 due to injury and only had two touches in Week 2. He blew up for 203 yards rushing and two scores along with two receiving TDs in Sunday's shocking 70-20 rout of Denver.

The former Texas A&M star became the second player in NFL history with at least 200 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns and two touchdown receptions in a single game, joining Houston's Billy Cannon, who had 216 rushing yards, three rushing TDs and two TD catches on Dec. 10, 1961. Achane is now +1000 to win OROY and is taking the second-most bets and fourth-most money after Week 3. The Dolphins have a huge AFC East game in Buffalo on Sunday.

Detroit tight end Sam LaPorta remains a +5000 longshot for OROY, but he's up to third in money and fifth in bets after a breakout Week 3 game of eight catches for 84 yards and a TD. He is the first rookie tight end in NFL history with at least five receptions in each of his first three career games.
