Bucs' odds to win Super Bowl 55 improve by 25 Percent after Rob Gronkowski trade

The fallout continues of Tuesday's shocking trade of former Patriots All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski to the Bucs.

It's widely known that no team has ever played in a Super Bowl in its home stadium, and that Tampa's Raymond James Stadium is scheduled to host Super Bowl 55 on Feb. 7. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' odds of reaching and winning that game didn't shift immediately at William Hill sportsbook following Tuesday's stunning trade for ex-Patriots All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski to join Tom Brady on the team but have since.

To win Super Bowl 55, the Bucs moved from +1600 to +1200, tied with the Dallas Cowboys for the fifth-shortest odds in the NFL behind the Saints (+1100), 49ers (+700), Ravens (+650) and defending champion Chiefs (+400).

For Tampa Bay to win the NFC championship for the second time in franchise history, it has moved from +800 to +600. Those are tied for the third-shortest odds in the conference with Dallas and behind San Francisco (+325) and New Orleans (+550).

The Bucs haven't won the NFC South since 2007, which is the longest drought of any team in that division and they have the longest playoff drought in the NFC. To win it this year, the Bucs shifted from +175 to +160, trailing only the three-time division champion Saints.

Finally, Tampa's win total remains at 9.5, but now the over is a -125 favorite as opposed to even money before the trade.

Brady has to be thrilled with this deal as the GOAT has thrown 176 touchdown passes to tight ends in his career, 30 more than any other quarterback in league history. A total of 78 of those have gone to Gronk; the only QB/tight end combo with more is Philip Rivers and Antonio Gates at 89 with the Chargers, but that number can't grow with Rivers now an Indianapolis Colt.

NFL futures odds could change all over at William Hill sportsbook following this weekend's NFL Draft.
