    Spurs vs. Hornets odds, predictions: Lines and picks for Saturday night's NBA matchup from proven computer model

    SportsLine's projection model generated its selections for Saturday's matchup between San Antonio and Charlotte

    The San Antonio Spurs will try to break a three-game losing streak and get back in the NBA playoff picture when they visit the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday night. San Antonio (24-39) is 12th in the Western Conference but within four games of ninth, while the Hornets (31-33) are 10th in the East. The Hornets won the last meeting, 131-115 in San Antonio on Dec. 15.

    Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C. Caesars Sportsbook lists Charlotte as a four-point favorite in its latest Spurs vs. Hornets odds, and the Over-Under for total points is set at 238.     Meanwhile, San Antonio is seventh in the league in scoring (112.7 per game), and while the defense has been poor, it allows almost two points fewer per game (112.8-114.5). It also average five blocks and 7.7 steals, both eighth in the NBA. The Spurs score 54.3 points per game in the paint (second in NBA) and are sixth in the league in shooting percentage (46.8). The teams are even in total rebounding at 45.2 per contest, but Hornets opponents pull down just shy of 48 per game, the second-most in the league.
