Raiders 2022 NFL futures odds: Longer-shot Las Vegas taking heavy action to win Super Bowl 57, Derek Carr popular for MVP

Bettors at Caesars Sportsbook are very much on the Raiders' Super Bowl bandwagon for this season.

Few teams had a better offseason than the Las Vegas Raiders. With all due respect to Rich Bisaccia, who helped lead Las Vegas to the playoffs after Jon Gruden was fired, the team upgraded at coach with Josh McDaniels. The Raiders also added two multi-time Pro Bowlers in receiver Davante Adams and pass-rusher Chandler Jones. So perhaps it's not a huge shock that Vegas is taking massive action at Caesars Sportsbook to win Super Bowl 57.

The Raiders are the only team with +2000 or higher odds to rank inside the top 10 in handle for Super Bowl futures at Caesars. They opened at +4000 months ago to win the Super Bowl, which was tied for the 17th-lowest odds with the Seahawks, Browns, Eagles and Dolphins. Now Las Vegas is alone at +3000, the 15th-lowest odds.

Las Vegas has taken the second-most tickets overall (7.3%) and third-most money wagered (7.0%) to win Super Bowl 57. One Nevada bettor put down $4,444 at +3000 for a potential win of $133,320, the largest Raiders Super Bowl bet thus far at Caesars.

The AFC West is absolutely loaded this season with the Broncos adding Russell Wilson, the Chargers beefing up on defense and the Chiefs just being the Chiefs. The Raiders haven't won a division title since 2002 and are +600 long shots this year, but they were as high as +1200. Las Vegas has taken a division-leading 45.4% of the tickets and 42.1% of the handle to win the West.

Despite the midseason coaching change, the Raiders won 10 games last year. Yet Vegas' total for 2022 is just 8.5 victories despite the Adams and Jones additions. Bettors don't seem to agree with that number, as 89.1% of the tickets and 75.0% of the handle is on the Over.

Derek Carr threw for a career-high 4,804 yards in 2021 and now has arguably the NFL's best receiver and an offensive guru in McDaniels. Carr opened at +4000 to win NFL MVP but is third in both tickets (8.1%) and handle (8.9%), and has dropped to +3000. The last Raider to win MVP was quarterback Rich Gannon in 2002. To lead the NFL in passing yards, Carr (was fifth in 2021) is a +6000 sixth favorite and is third in tickets (11.9%) and handle (14.0%).

As prolific as Adams was in Green Bay, he never led the NFL in receiving yards. To do so this year, he's a +1100 third favorite and is sixth in tickets (4.2%) seventh in handle (4.1% -- one spot behind his former Packers teammate Allen Lazard).

Finally, McDaniels proved with the Patriots he is one of the NFL's best offensive coordinators, but his first head coaching stint in Denver was a disaster as the Broncos were 11-17 under his watch before McDaniels was fired in Year 2. He's +2200 to win NFL Coach of the Year, and fifth in tickets (5.4%) and eighth in handle (8.0%).
