Orioles vs. Rangers ALDS Game 3 Tuesday probable pitchers, odds, trends: Baltimore trying to extend season behind Dean Kremer

The Orioles try to save their season tonight at the Rangers.

There hasn't been a ton of drama in the 2023 MLB postseason yet, with all four Wild Card series ending in sweeps yet another sweep potentially looming Tuesday night with the Baltimore Orioles down 2-0 in the ALDS and visiting the Texas Rangers, who are -135 on the SportsLine consensus and 4-0 in these playoffs. Texas has outscored its postseason opponents by a combined 25-11.

At BetMGM, 45% of the bets and 61% of the money on are the Rangers money line. At +1.5 (-165), the Orioles are taking 39% of the bets and 47% of the money. On the total of 9, 53% of the bets and 46% of the money are on Over. In the past four postseasons, Overs are 14-8 (64%) in games with totals of 9 or more runs in the MLB playoffs.

The Orioles were not swept once in 52 regular-season series, the first time the O's made it through a season without a sweep since moving to Baltimore in 1954. In fact, the team's streak of 91 straight regular-season series of at least two games without being swept is the fourth-longest streak in MLB history.

The franchise is currently in a seven-game playoff losing streak, with its last win coming in the 2014 ALDS. This is the first road game of this postseason for the Orioles, who were an AL-best 52-29 on the road during the year.

Baltimore turns to right-hander Dean Kremer (13-5, 4.12 ERA) tonight. The 27-year-old Israeli-American has dual citizenship, and much of his extended family lives in Israel, which is at war. Though he was born and raised in Stockton, Calif., Kremer is the son of Israeli parents and identifies as Israeli: "I still want to pitch, but, I mean, it's going to be in the back of my head," he said.

The Orioles were 13-2 in Kremer's final 15 starts and he was 3-1 with 2.89 ERA in his final 10. Kremer faced the Rangers on May 27 and lost, allowing three earned runs in 6.1 innings. This will be his first career postseason start. Kremer hasn't pitched in nearly two weeks and is 2-0 with 0.54 ERA in three starts this year on at least six days of rest.

Texas hasn't lost yet in these playoffs despite not yet playing at home. The franchise seeks its first ALCS appearance since 2011. Teams leading 2-0 in best-of-five series are 78-10 (.886) all-time. This will actually be the first-ever Rangers playoff game at Globe Life Field, although that stadium did host the 2020 NLDS, NLCS and World Series during the pandemic.

Right-hander Nathan Eovaldi (12-5, 3.63 ERA) gets the call for Texas. He improved to 5-1 with a 2.50 ERA in seven career postseason starts with a win at Tampa Bay last week. Eovaldi had a 9.30 ERA in final six regular-season outings. He didn't face the Orioles this year.

Eovaldi Over 4.5 strikeouts (+100) is one of the most-wagered MLB player props tonight on the DraftKings board, as is Texas rookie Evan Carter to homer (+650). Carter is 5-for-10 with a home run in these playoffs and has never faced Kremer.
