Nuggets vs. Celtics line, picks: Advanced computer NBA model releases selections for Friday matchup

SportsLine's projection model generated selections for Friday's matchup between the Denver Nuggets and the Boston Celtics

The Denver Nuggets and Boston Celtics face off in a cross-conference showdown at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday. Boston is favored by six points at Caesars Sportsbook, while the Over-Under is set at 218 (see up-to-date odds for every game this week on our NBA odds page).

Before making any Nuggets vs. Celtics picks, you NEED to check out the NBA predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every NBA game 10,000 times and has returned well over $10,000 in profit for $100 players on its top-rated NBA picks over the past three-plus seasons. The model enters Week 17 of the 2021-22 NBA season on a stunning 65-36 roll on all top-rated NBA picks, returning almost $2,400. Anyone following it has seen HUGE returns.

The model knows the Nuggets are the best defensive rebounding team in the NBA, securing more than 75 percent of missed shots by opponents. Denver is also very good on offense, producing 112.1 points per 100 possessions. The Nuggets are in the top three of the NBA in field-goal percentage (47.4 percent) and 2-point percentage (55.9 percent), and Denver passes at a high level. Denver is No. 3 in the NBA in assists, averaging 27.2 per game, and the Nuggets assist on 66.4 percent of field goals, No. 2 in the league.

The model also knows the Celtics are elite on the defensive end. Boston is No. 3 in the NBA in defensive efficiency this season, and the Celtics also lead the NBA in defense since Jan. 1, giving up 101.1 points per 100 possessions. Opponents are shooting only 43.2 percent from the field against Boston, with the No. 1 mark in 2-point accuracy allowed at 49.2 percent. Boston also allows the fewest assists (21.6 per game) in the NBA, and the Celtics are No. 2 in blocked shots (5.9 per game) and points allowed in the paint (41.9 per game).
