North Carolina vs. Syracuse odds, line: Proven model reveals college basketball picks for Jan. 24, 2023, Atlantic Coast Conference matchup

SportsLine's projection model generated selections for Tuesday's ACC matchup between the North Carolina Tar Heels and Syracuse Orange

The North Carolina Tar Heels look to continue their success against the Atlantic Coast Conference-rival Syracuse Orange when they meet on Tuesday in Syracuse, New York. The Tar Heels (14-6, 6-3 ACC) are 4-2 all-time in games played at Syracuse, and have won 11 of the last 13 meetings with the Orange (13-7, 6-3). Syracuse has won three of its last four games, and has compiled a 9-3 record on its home court this season. North Carolina has struggled on the road this year, where it is 1-4.

The game from the Dome will tip off at 9 p.m. ET. The Tar Heels are 4.5-point favorites, according to the latest North Carolina vs. Syracuse odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the over/under for total points scored is set at 148 (see up-to-date odds for every game this week on our college basketball odds page).

He has reached double-digit scoring 18 times, and 20 or more points 10 times, including in the past two games. In an 80-64 win over James Madison on Nov. 20, he scored 19 points and grabbed a season-high 23 rebounds. For the year, he is averaging a double-double with 17.8 points and 11.6 rebounds.

The model also knows senior guard Joseph Girard III is one of three Orange who average double-figure scoring at 17.5 points per game. He is also averaging 3.3 assists and 2.8 rebounds. He is connecting on 40.9% of his field goals, including 38.2% from 3-point range, and 83.9% from the foul stripe.
