A weird season – one already featuring a record number of large underdogs winning outright – is about to get weirder. Believe it or not, we've already reached the stage of the season when some teams are getting byes and others are heading to Europe to play.

I wasn't feeling much of the Week 4 slate when I started my early work on it a weekend ago and I feel similarly about Week 5. These are always tricky times for me, with not enough of a true sample size to become convinced of much (or unconvinced of some beliefs from the summer) or pinpoint teams' identities, but enough games have been played to make you think you have it all figured out. You can end up seeing ghosts.

But what I do like about this slate is the return of more divisional games, which lend themselves to some well-established trends. Here's to hoping some of them continue to hold true as I make my initial plays for Week 5.
