NFL Week 4 opening line projections: Early power rating adjustments to help attack spreads for every game
It's been a rough Sunday for several big favorites, with both the Jaguars and Ravens losing outright as favorites of more than a touchdown and taking down plenty of survivor entries with them. But the biggest performance of the day has to go to the Miami Dolphins, who rolled up 726 yards of offense in a 70-20 win over the Broncos. That moves Mike McDaniel's team to 3-0 heading into a massive game against the 2-1 Buffalo Bills, who took care of business themselves against the Commanders.
A game like the Dolphins had is usually cause for an inflated line the following week, but it's not like the Bills gave the market any reason to downgrade them from the lookahead line of Bills -3 after effectively shutting out the Commanders, with Washington tacking on a feel-good field goal in the closing seconds. My power ratings for the Bills and Dolphins prior to Week 3 would've made the game Bills -4.5, but I've adjusted both teams upward in my initial Week 4 power ratings snapshot. You can find what I'd now make that game below and be ready for when sportsbooks release their lines for Week 4.
You can see all of my early projected spreads below, which is designed to help you attack the Week 4 opening lines later today. We'll run our full look at power ratings and official spread projections on Tuesday here at SportsLine.
