NFL Week 10 opening line projections: Early power rating adjustments to help attack spreads for every game
In a week that featured two elite offense battling in Germany in the Dolphins and Chiefs and another pair of potential playoff teams matchup up in Seahawks vs. Ravens, the offensive fireworks were saved for a game that might have decided the Offensive Rookie of the Year race. C.J. Stroud had an all-time performance in just his eighth career start, throwing for 470 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions while rallying his team to a 39-37 win over the Buccaneers that was made even more difficult when Houston lost its kicker mid-game.
The Texas certainly aren't a team without holes, but considering their QB has a 14:1 TD: INT ratio while the offense has scored 30-plus in three of eight games, most will probably consider Houston at least an average team moving forward. Entering Week 9, that would have put them even with the Browns (mid-QB uncertainty), Chargers and Saints in my power ratings. I don't know if I can quite get there -- after all, an average team probably has an easier time handling a below-average Bucs team at home -- but they're certainly going to give trouble to any team with a poor pass defense.
I also made plenty of other power ratings adjustments to get an idea of where I would set the spread for each Week 10 game. You can see all of my early projected spreads below, which is designed to help you attack the Week 10 opening lines later today. We'll run our full look at power ratings and official spread projections on Tuesday here at SportsLine.
