NFL Week 1 Packers vs. Bears lines, picks: Proven computer model reveals predictions, best bets for Sunday's NFL matchup
NFC North rivals will clash when the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers open their seasons on Sunday. The Packers will kick off the Jordan Love era after star quarterback Aaron Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets. The Bears will hope for continued progress from quarterback Justin Fields after a 3-14 season. The Bears haven't beaten the Packers since 2018, losing all eight matchups over that span by at least seven points.
Sunday's kickoff at Soldier Field is set for 4:25 p.m. ET. Chicago is a 1.5-point favorite and the over/under for total points scored is 41 in the latest Packers vs. Bears odds, according to the SportsLine consensus.
Before making any Packers vs. Bears picks of your own, you NEED to check out the NFL predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.
The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up more than $7,000 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception. The model enters the 2023 NFL season on an incredible 163-113 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season. It also is on a 17-6 roll on top-rated NFL picks since Week 7 of last season.
The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past six years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94 percent of CBS Sports Football Pick'em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is WAY UP.
The model knows the Bears are favored against Green Bay for the first time since 2019, and the quarterback matchup is a big reason. Rodgers and Brett Favre went 46-15 against Chicago, but Love has no experience. Fields was seventh in the NFL in rushing last season with 1,143 yards. He also threw for 2,242 yards in his second NFL season and accounted for 25 TDs.
The model also knows Green Bay has had Chicago's number and Love won't be asked to do too much. The Packers are likely to count heavily on the running back duo of Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. They combined for 1,891 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns in 2022. The Bears allowed a league-worst 27 points per game in 2002 and were 29th in total defense (376 yards per contest).
Now, the model has set its sights on Packers vs. Bears. We can tell you the model is leaning Under the total, and it also says one side of the spread cashes in more than 50% of simulations! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any NFL picks.
