Fantasy Outlook in team city:
Dillon is a prime power back prospect who also has some shiftiness and runs well in short space. He became a record-setter at BC despite playing against stacked fronts very often. He has good vision and is quite athletic for such a big RB.Â
After an ankle injury slowed him a bit in 2018, Dillon rebounded to his best form last season with 1,685 rushing yards, which was sixth in the nation. He rushed for 38 touchdowns in three seasons and demonstrated the consistent ability to finish off scoring drives. He can eventually be a frequent TD force in the pros.Â
He was not a factor in the passing game at BC, though, and that hurts his fantasy appeal as his NFL career begins. His role was very clear in college, as he was the focal point of a run-heavy offense. It is difficult to envision him being a significant fantasy contributor early on unless injuries strike in Green Bay.Â
Aaron Jones should continue to be the lead RB for the Packers in 2020, and Dillon will likely be complementary and a prime fantasy handcuff. He could vulture some TDs from Jones and may oust Jamaal Williams from the No. 2 spot on the depth chart. He will only be a later round pick in seasonal fantasy leagues.Â
But sharp dynasty leaguers are well aware that Jones is in a contract year, and Dillon could be the Packers' featured back by 2021. He will be worth the one-year wait to potentially become a fantasy starter. Green Bay has a newfound higher emphasis on the running game under Matt LaFleur and Dillon could become a quality fantasy RB2 by the 2021 season. Draft him in the second round in a dynasty league and stash him for a second year return.Â
