NFL Divisional Round betting trends: Bengals vs. Bills taking most action so far of any weekend game, Cincinnati most-wagered team

The Week 17 matchup between the Bills and Bengals in Cincinnati was to be one of the biggest games of the NFL regular season. Of course, the game eventually got postponed in the first quarter and was eventually canceled. Thus, Josh Allen and Joe Burrow have yet to officially face off. They will do so on Sunday in the Divisional Round with the Bills 5.5-point home favorites at BetMGM. It's the most-wagered game of the weekend thus far at the book, and Cincinnati is taking the most against-the-spread tickets of the eight teams still standing.

Both these teams enter on major winning streaks. Cincinnati has won nine in a row while Buffalo's streak stands at eight. It's the seventh playoff matchup in NFL history featuring two clubs on wining streaks of at least eight, the first since the 2016 AFC title game between the Patriots (eight-game winning streak) and Steelers (nine).

Burrow is averaging 276.5 total yards per game with 22 total touchdowns during his streak, and Allen 276.0 total yards and 21 TDs in his run. Both are 26 years old and have four career playoff wins. Burrow is a stellar 13-2 against the spread as an underdog of at least three points in his career, including the playoffs.

The total is currently set at 48.5 points and bettors expect a shootout. The Over for that total is the most-wagered over of the four Divisional Round games, earning 78% of the tickets. The highest total is 53 points in Jaguars at Chiefs on Saturday, and that's the only game taking a double-lean on the Under: 52% of the bets and 51% of the handle.

Jaguars-Chiefs is the No. 2 game in terms of overall tickets – likely because it's the first one kicking off all weekend – and Kansas City is taking the most overall money of the eight teams thus far. The Chiefs are -8.5 and taking 79% of the handle on the game's spread. It's the 14th straight playoff game in which the Chiefs are favored, the longest streak in the Super Bowl era.

Patrick Mahomes is 8-3 straight up and 7-4 ATS in his playoff career and 7-2 SU and 6-3 ATS at home. He is the only Super Bowl-winning quarterback left in the postseason field. This is the first time since 2006 that there's just one quarterback with a ring remaining in the Divisional Round.

A trend worth monitoring for this weekend: Since 2003, teams that become smaller underdogs in the NFL playoffs have gone 44-18-2 (71%) ATS. Jacksonville has moved from +9.5 to +8.5 in Kansas City and Dallas from +4.5 to +3.5 in San Francisco on Sunday.

"The Jaguars and Cowboys winning outright and the Eagles and the Bills covering would be the best outcomes for BetMGM this weekend," said Seamus Magee, Sports Trader at BetMGM.
