The three lookahead picks from last week have benefited from line movements by a combined nine points in our favor. It does not get any better for those of us who wade into the choppy waters of NFL lookahead wagers.

The best selection, based on how much the spread shifted in our behalf, was the Washington Commanders at +1.5 against the Cleveland Browns.

We were attracted by the flashy start of Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, who dismissed any notion of being a fluke with a dazzling show Sunday against Arizona, and the Browns' offense stumbling out of the gate. Washington ranks sixth for total yards, Cleveland 31st.

Excerpt from our article: "We could have a different favorite next week." We do, indeed — at -3 for Washington, a massive movement for non-injury reasons of 4.5 points.

Our choice of the Minnesota Vikings at +1.5 in London against the New York Jets likewise underwent a significant change. The public finally is buying into the Vikings, now favored at -2.5, representing a transition of four points in a week's time. Another excerpt: "We foresee a straight-up Vikes win Sunday at Green Bay."  It happened, indeed — leaving Minnesota as one of two unbeaten along with the Kansas City Chiefs through four weeks.

We guessed that the Jets would eke out a close win over the Denver Broncos. Turns out, they did us one better, losing outright.

The number on the third recommendation, Baltimore over Cincinnati, moseyed to our delight from -1 to -2.5. We figured the Ravens would beat Buffalo, which would impress bettors and oddsmakers, and the Bengals would beat Carolina, which would leave no impression on either group. Both of those boxes were checked.
