We should have stuck with just Sunday games last week. All three of our lookahead selection teams won outright. All three of the squads we chose against lost straight-up. Yet with the Monday nighter, the spread moved the wrong way this week.

We liked the Los Angeles Rams at -2.5 against Miami. Apparently, the oddsmakers gave more credit to the Dolphins losing to the Buffalo Bills on a buzzer-beating field goal than the Rams winning in overtime at Seattle. As we speak, the line sits at a shrunken -1.

The updated numbers brought better news on our other recommendations.

Minnesota won. Jacksonville lost. In contrast to our previous pick, those outcomes shoved the spread in their meeting up a point to 4.5 in favor of the Vikings. Final margins of 4 points do happen, so we'll take it.

A similar move occurred with Detroit vs. Houston on Sunday night. The Texans bowed to the New York Jets while the Lions upended Green Bay. The lookahead number -- Lions -2.5 -- jumped on our behalf above the critical three-point threshold to -3.5. The small difference is actually big -- so big that we no longer would find the Lions appealing with the new spread.
