Mike Trout home run odds: Priced +185 to tie MLB record with homer in eighth straight game

Will Angels star Mike Trout go yard again tonight?

The Major League Baseball record for consecutive games with at least one home run is eight, accomplished by Ken Griffey Jr. in 1993, Don Mattingly in 1987 and Dale Long in 1956. Angels star outfielder Mike Trout can join that exclusive club tonight by going yard in Cleveland. Caesars Sportsbook lists him at +185 to hit a homer. Trout does do so in 32.9% of simulations according to the SportsLine Projection Model.

The Guardians' starting pitcher is Cody Morris (0-1, 3.00), just the third start of the 25-year-old rookie's career, and he hasn't faced the Angels. MLB.com ranks Morris as Cleveland's No. 15 overall prospect. Trout is batting .261 with 27 homers in 272 at-bats off right-handers this season but just .228 in road games (compared to .337 at home), albeit with 17 homers. The three-time AL MVP has 35 homer runs on the season and connected off Konnor Pilkington for a 422-foot drive to dead center at Progressive Field on Monday.

"I'm just putting a good swing on the ball and they're going out," Trout said after Monday. "I'm going up there ready to hit and whatever happens, happens. I'll come in (Tuesday) and do the same thing because it's working for me."

He is the first American League player with a seven-game homer streak since Toronto's Kendrys Morales in 2018. Cincinnati's Joey Votto homered in seven straight last season from July 24 to 30. Trout's previous career high was four straight games with a homer, which he accomplished twice (May 12-15, 2017, and April 4-7, 2019). He is hitting .393 with 11 RBI during his homer streak. In typical Angels fashion, they are only 3-4 in the seven games.

Just for a point of comparison odds-wise, Angels teammate Shohei Ohtani has the second-shortest odds tonight in this game to homer at +320. The Yankees' Aaron Judge leads the majors with 55 homers and is +165 to hit one in Boston.
