Michigan State vs. Purdue college football odds, picks: Line and predictions for Saturday's Big Ten matchup from proven model

The SportsLine Projection Model is on a 28-15 run on its top-rated college football picks, and now it has simulated the matchup between the No. 3 Spartans and Boilermakers 10,000 times and revealed its results

The CFP's third-ranked Michigan State Spartans (8-0) will try to put a massive victory behind it on Saturday when it visits the Purdue Boilermakers (5-3) for a Big Ten matchup at Ross-Ade Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3:30 ET in West Lafayette, Ind.

The Spartans are 2.5-point favorites in the latest Michigan State vs. Purdue college football odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the over-under for total points scored is 53.5. (See the latest college football lines for all of this week's games on our college football odds page.)

Before you consider your Michigan State vs. Purdue or college football predictions, you need to see what the SportsLine Projection Model has to say.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times. Over the past five-plus years, the proprietary computer model has generated a stunning profit of almost $3,700 for $100 players on its top-rated college football picks against the spread. It also enters Week 10 of the 2021 season on a 28-15 run on all top-rated college football side picks. Anyone who has followed it has seen HUGE returns.

The Spartans come in off a rousing 37-33 victory against rival Michigan and know they can't afford to let up. Running back Kenneth Walker became a top Heisman contender with 197 rushing yards and five TDs in the comeback victory. He has 1,194 yards and 14 TDs this season, while quarterback Payton Thorne has put 1,897 passing yards and 15 TDs. The Spartans defense allows just 20.7 points per game (29th in FBS), while Purdue's offense scores just 22.9 (103rd).

The Boilermakers should be able to move the ball through the air, as Michigan State's defense gives up 301 passing yards per game (127th in the nation). Quarterback Aidan O'Connell, who completes 71 percent of his attempts and has thrown for 1,551 yards, leads a Purdue passing attack that average 307 per contest (16th). The Boilermakers defense ranks 10th in the nation in both scoring (17.1 points per game) and against the pass (174 yards), and it has 12 takeaways.

Now the model has simulated Michigan State vs. Purdue 10,000 times, and the results are in. We can tell you that the model is leaning Under on the total, and it also says one side of the spread has all the value. You absolutely need to see these predictions before locking in your own picks.
