Mark Andrews 2023 NFL season props, odds: Ravens Pro Bowl tight end expects to play Week 1 vs. Texans

Wednesday should confirm that Ravens Pro Bowl tight end Mark Andrews will play Sunday.

One of the most accomplished NFL players who is in some doubt for Week 1 due to possible injury is Baltimore Ravens three-time Pro Bowl tight end Mark Andrews. He hasn't practiced for weeks and again didn't suit up Monday due to an undisclosed issue, but is expected to take part in Wednesday's session and play on Sunday against visiting the Houston Texans, who at +10 are the biggest underdogs on the DraftKings board.

Baltimore coach John Harbaugh has said that there's no need to panic about Andrews' absence. He repeated that during a Monday press conference without saying what the problem is. Harbaugh said that Andrews is expected to be back at practice Wednesday, which would give him three days of work ahead of Sunday's game.

Andrews, a third-round pick in 2018 out of Oklahoma, has become arguably the second-best receiving tight end in the NFL behind future Hall of Famer Travis Kelce of Kansas City. Last year, Andrews was named to his third Pro Bowl and caught 73 passes for 847 yards and five scores despite missing two games. He put up those numbers despite a Baltimore offense that was extremely run-heavy and only had starting quarterback Lamar Jackson for 12 of 17 games.

With Jackson now healthy and happy under a long-term contract, plus a new offensive coordinator in Todd Monken who would like to throw a bit more, Andrews could be in line to put up numbers like his 2021 All-Pro season in which he set career highs with 107 catches, 1,361 yards and nine touchdowns. Then again, there could be fewer targets with Odell Beckham Jr. and first-round rookie receiver Zay Flowers now on the team.

Here are Mark Andrews props available at DraftKings:

    • To win NFL Offensive Player of the Year: +15000
    • To lead NFL in receiving yards: +10000
    • To lead NFL in receiving TDs: +5000
    • To lead NFL in receptions: +6000
    • Over/Under 825.5 receiving yards: Under 825.5 -130 favorite
    • Over/Under 6.5 receiving TDs: Both -110
    • Over/Under 70.5 receptions: Both -110
    • To have 1,000 receiving yards and Lamar Jackson to have 1K rushing yards: +400

Andrews, Jackson, No. 1 running back JK Dobbins and wideouts Beckham Jr. and Rashod Bateman are among those on offense who didn't play a down in the preseason.

"Any of us who care about the Ravens are excited to see all the guys out there on the field together," Harbaugh said Monday. "There's an element of, 'We don't know.' We haven't seen it yet at all in a game situation. I'm as excited as everybody else is to see it happen."

Andrews ranks among the top five all-time in Ravens history in receptions (fourth, 336), yards (third, 4,313) and TDs (second, 34). His 31 receiving TDs since 2019 are the second most by an NFL tight end over that span. He's almost not going to win NFL Offensive Player of the Year, as no tight end has ever done so.

Numberfire.com forecasts his season totals as 85.3 catches, 949 yards and 7.8 TDs. For the opener against Houston, the SportsLine Projection Model has Andrews finishing with 3.6 catches for 47 yards and 0.35 TDs, all team highs for Baltimore.
