Jets vs. Steelers betting preview: Odds, picks, props, trends, injuries and more for Week 7 Sunday Night Football matchup

Before you lock in your plays for Sunday's New York at Pittsburgh game, check out this full betting preview

The Aaron Rodgers-Davante Adams reunion comes to fruition this week when the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers collide in the Week 7 Sunday Night Football Game at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh. After weeks of speculation, the Jets acquired Adams on Tuesday in a trade with the Raiders. The move reunited Adams and Rodgers, who combined for 52 touchdowns when the two played for the Packers from 2017-21, the most by a quarterback-receiver duo over that span. For Sunday, New York is a 1.5-point favorite in the latest Jets vs. Steelers odds, while the over/under is 38.5. Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. ET.

The Jets are hoping that the trade for Adams will revive the team's season. After starting the year 2-1, New York (2-4) has lost three in a row and sits in third place in the AFC East.

A large problem has been the offense. The Jets average 18.8 points per game; just eight teams average fewer. Over the three-game losing streak they've been even worse, averaging 15.3 points.

While Adams gives New York another game-changing receiver to go along with Garrett Wilson, Adams does not help address one of the offense's biggest issues: pass protection. Over the last three weeks Rodgers has been sacked 11 times, which is tied for the second most in the league over that time, behind only the Browns' Deshaun Watson (15). That bodes well for the Steelers' attack man off the edge, T.J. Watt, whose 23.5 sacks since the start of the 2023 season is the most in the NFL over that time.

Adams may not be the only high-profile player making his franchise debut on Sunday night. Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson, who was signed as a free agent in the offseason but has not played while dealing with a calf injury, reportedly has been sharing first-team reps in practice with Justin Fields this week. On Friday Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin said he has decided on his starting quarterback but declined to share his decision publicly.

The Steelers offense has sputtered behind Fields this season. The team ranks 28th in passing yards per game (166.8), 27th in yards per play (4.8) and 20th in points per game (20.7). Pittsburgh will face a Jets defense that ranks second in the league in total defense (273.0 yards per game).
