Jacksonville Jaguars have NFL-low season win total and William Hill bettors are split on it
NFL oddsmakers have been pretty pessimistic on the season win totals of the Jacksonville Jaguars in recent years. Since 2009, the Jags have been projected to have a winning record – i.e. at least 9 wins on the odds – just once. That was in 2018 when Jacksonville was set at 9 victories the year after reaching the AFC title game.
The Jaguars flopped in 2018 with a 5-11 record and weren't much better last year at 6-10 – their win total was set at 8, marking the eighth time in the past nine years that Jacksonville finished Under.
For 2020, the Jags are set with an NFL-low Over-Under win total of 4.5 at William Hill sportsbook; every other team is given a number of at least 5.5. Yes, even the Cincinnati Bengals coming off a 2-14 season. Bettors at William Hill are split on that low number for Jacksonville. A total of 63 percent of all tickets sold on the Jags' win total has gone Under, but 60 percent of all money wagered is on the Over.
By far the team bettors are most pessimistic on in the AFC South is the Houston Texans at 7.5 wins – pessimistic no doubt due to the offseason trade of All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins for pennies on the dollar to Arizona. A whopping 86 percent of all money wagered on Houston is Under 7.5 wins and 66 percent of tickets sold. That heavy lean has dropped Houston down from 8 wins.

On the flip side, it has been optimistic action on new quarterback Philip Rivers and the Indianapolis Colts, to the point of raising their win total from 8.5 to 9. Thus far, 77 percent of all money on Indy's win total is on the Over as are 67 percent of all tickets sold.
Finally, the Tennessee Titans have a win total of 8.5. The money wagered has been dead even, but 63 percent of the tickets are on the Over. AFC South teams have made up eight percent of the total number of bets and six percent of the total dollars wagered of all win total bets placed at William Hill. Those are the lowest numbers of any division.Â
