Indiana vs. Western Illinois prediction, odds: Football expert releases college football picks for Week 2, 2024

SportsLine expert Emory Hunt, who was 93-78-5 (+777) on his college football picks in 2023, made his pick for Western Illinois vs. Indiana on Friday night

The Indiana Hoosiers will look to make it two wins in a row when they take on the Western Illinois Leathernecks in a non-conference matchup on Friday night. Western Illinois dropped a 54-15 matchup to Northern Illinois on Saturday, while Indiana topped Florida International 31-7 in its season opener. The Leathernecks, who finished 0-11 last season, have not won since beating Illinois State 38-31 on Oct. 30, 2021. The Hoosiers, who finished 3-9 overall in 2023, are 4-3 on their home field since the start of last year.

Kickoff from Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana, is set for 7 p.m. ET. This will be the first-ever meeting between the programs. The Hoosiers are 43.5-point favorites in the latest Western Illinois vs. Indiana odds from SportsLine consensus, while the over/under for total points scored is 52.5.

Before making any Western Illinois vs. Indiana picks or college football predictions, you NEED to hear what football expert Emory Hunt has to say.

Hunt is the founder and CEO of Football Gameplan, which has been supplying analysis of all levels of football since 2007, and a former running back for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. He knows the game from a player's perspective.

In addition, Hunt was 93-78-5 (+777) on his college football picks last year. Anyone who has followed him is way up.

Now, Hunt has analyzed Western Illinois vs. Indiana from every angle and just locked in his picks and predictions.

Hunt knows that the Hoosiers are led by sixth-year senior quarterback Kurtis Rourke, a transfer from Ohio. In last week's win, Rourke was solid, completing 15 of 24 passes (62.5%) for 180 yards and one touchdown. For his career, he has completed 66.2% of his passes for 7,846 yards and 51 touchdowns. He has thrown just 16 interceptions and has a career rating of 146.6. His best season was 2022, when he threw for 3,256 yards and 25 touchdowns with just four interceptions for the Bobcats.

The expert also has taken into account that senior quarterback Nathan Lamb heads the Leathernecks offense. He is in his second year with the team, after playing two seasons at College of Sequoias. In 2022 at College of Sequoias, he completed 161 of 250 passes for 2,166 yards and 22 touchdowns. In last week's season opener, he completed 17 of 29 passes (58.6%) for 204 yards and one touchdown. He also carried eight times for 28 yards (3.5 average).

Now, Hunt has locked in a confident against-the-spread pick for Western Illinois vs. Indiana. We can tell you he's leaning Over on the total, but he knows a crucial X-factor makes one side of the spread a MUST-BACK. You ABSOLUTELY need to see what it is before locking in any picks of your own.
