Giants vs. Saints NFL Week 15 odds, props: Tommy "Cutlets" DeVito would make league history with victory; now on Offensive Player of Year odds board

Rookie QB Tommy DeVito has been a revelation for the Giants, who visit New Orleans this week.

Who would have guessed even a month ago that the biggest story in the NFL entering Week 15 would be New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito, an undrafted free agent rookie who has become a pop culture phenomenon with DeVito's embrace of his Italian-American heritage and because he still lives with his parents? It doesn't hurt that he's winning games too. "Tommy Cutlets" would make NFL history on Sunday if he leads the Giants to a victory at the Saints, who are -6 on the SportsLine consensus.

DeVito, who is from New Jersey, was more of a local icon before he showed up big on the national stage Monday night and led the Giants to their third straight victory, a 24-22 win over what had been a streaking Green Bay Packers team. The Giants aren't asking DeVito to do too much -- mostly just to not lose the game. He completed 17 of his 21 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown with no turnovers while rushing 10 times for 71 yards in the victory.

Since quarterback stats were first tracked in 1950, the 25-year-old become the first signal-caller ever to complete 80% of his passes, rush for at least 70 yards, commit no turnovers and take no sacks in a game. DeVito was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week – rather amusingly, fellow New York QB Zach Wilson of the Jets was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week – and on Sunday can become the first undrafted rookie QB in history to win four straight starts. He already is the first Giants QB to win three starts in a row with a passer rating of at least 100 and zero interceptions in each since future Hall of Famer Fran Tarkenton in 1970.

For Sunday at DraftKings, DeVito is set at over/under 179.5 passing yards, 213.5 passing and rushing yards, 17.5 completions, 27.5 attempts, 0.5 interceptions (Over a -130 favorite) and 0.5 TD passes (Over a -190 favorite). There's also a +750 parlay special on DeVito with at least one passing TD, a minimum of 50 rushing yards (Monday was his first time topping that number) and zero picks. The Saints are a good defensive team, ranking No. 7 against the pass (189.5 yards per game) and third with 14 interceptions.

DeVito had not been an option to bet for Offensive Rookie of the Year, and let's be clear that it's almost surely way too late for him win, but he's priced +25000 at DK – the same current price as Panthers No. 1 overall pick QB and preseason OROY favorite Bryce Young. Houston's C.J. Stroud, the No. 2 overall pick, is a -20000 favorite even though he may miss Week 15 with a concussion.

That DeVito is the first QB to throw a touchdown pass on Sunday (this is one of seven games to kick off at 1 p.m. ET) is +1200 and that he's the first to throw a pick is +1300. The favorites on those props, respectively, are Tua Tagovailoa (+750) and a four-way tie between Wilson, Young, Desmond Ridder and Bailey Zappe, each at +900.

New York is still in the playoff race thanks to the team's first three-game winning streak -- all as an underdog -- since a four-game run from Week 4-7 last season. The Giants are trying to become the first team ever to start 2-8 or worse and make playoffs. They currently sit 10th in the NFC and are +1600 playoff longshots with No at -10000.

New Orleans is technically tied with Tampa Bay and Atlanta for first in the NFC South at 6-7, but officially sits third due to tiebreakers. The team is 11th in the NFC. The Saints are +150 to make the playoffs (because the division is in play) and -180 to miss. With 120 passing yards Sunday, Derek Carr can become the 14th QB in NFL history to have at least 10 seasons with 3,000 passing yards. Overall, though, Carr is not having a particularly good year. Carr's 221.5 passing yards per game is his lowest since his 2014 rookie season with the Raiders. He might not have top wideout Chris Olave available due to injury.
