Georgetown vs. Syracuse odds, line, picks: Predictions and best bets for Saturday's matchup from proven college basketball model

SportsLine's projection model generated selections for Saturday's game between the Georgetown Hoyas and Syracuse Orange

The Syracuse Orange and Georgetown Hoyas will try to harness some momentum on Saturday when the former Big East rivals face off at the JMA Wireless Dome. The Orange (5-4) have won two straight, including a 95-66 demolition of Oakland on Tuesday, while Georgetown (5-5) defeated Siena 75-69 on Wednesday. The teams still meet regularly despite Syracuse's move to the ACC nine years ago, and the rivalry has lost meaning, but the passion among the players remains.

Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET in Syracuse, N.Y. The Orange are 8.5-point favorites in the latest Georgetown vs. Syracuse men's college basketball odds at Caesars Sportsbook, and the over/under is set at 144.5 (see up-to-date odds for every game this week on our college basketball odds page).

Before you make any Syracuse vs. Georgetown picks, you NEED to check out the college basketball predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every Division I college basketball game 10,000 times. Over the past six-plus years, the proprietary computer model has generated more than $1,500 for $100 players on its top-rated college basketball picks against the spread. Anybody who has followed it has seen profitable returns.

The model knows Syracuse will be settling into a six-game home-stand, and they are 3-2 at the Carrier Dome so far. Five players scored in double figures for Syracuse on Tuesday, with Jesse Edwards and Joe Girard both scoring 18 points. Edwards had seven rebounds, and he averages 15.1 points and 11.1 boards this season. Girard, who had six assists, is scoring 14.7 while shooting 35.3 percent on three-pointers.

The model also has accounted for Georgetown's size, with Qudus Wahab and Akok Akok both capable of matching up with the 6-foot-11 Edwards. Wahab averages 10.3 points and 7.4 rebounds, and Akok gets a team-high 7.6 boards and blocks 2.1 shots. Primo Spears and Brandon Murray combine for 32.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and nine assists per game. Jay Heath scores 14.5 points and hits 40 percent on three-point tries.

Now, the model has set its sights on Georgetown vs. Syracuse, and it is leaning Over on the total and it also says one side of the spread hits in well over 50% of simulations! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any college basketball picks.
