FIU vs. UTEP odds, line, picks: Predictions for Wednesday's college football Week 7 matchup from advanced computer model

SportsLine's projection model has generated selections for Wednesday's Conference USA showdown between the Panthers and Miners

The FIU Panthers attempt to match their win total from last season when they host the UTEP Miners in a Conference USA showdown on Wednesday. FIU (3-3, 0-3) already has improved from 2022, when it won only two of its first six contests. UTEP (1-5, 0-2) split its first six games last year but is struggling this season as it enters with a four-game losing streak. The Miners cruised to a 40-6 home victory against the Panthers in 2022.

Kickoff at Riccardo Silva Stadium in Miami is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. The Panthers are 3-point favorites in the latest FIU vs. UTEP odds, while the over/under for total points scored is 43.5 and FIU is a -153 favorite on the money line (see up-to-date odds for every game this week on our college football odds page).

Before you make any UTEP vs. FIU picks or college football predictions, you NEED to see the predictions from SportsLine's proven computer model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times. Since its inception, it has generated a stunning profit of more than $2,000 for $100 players on its top-rated college football picks against the spread. Anyone who has followed it has seen HUGE returns.

The model knows FIU is coming off its second straight defeat, a 34-17 setback at New Mexico State last Wednesday. Freshman quarterback Keyone Jenkins did not throw a touchdown pass and was intercepted twice but had the most accurate outing of his career, completing 25-of-32 attempts for 258 yards. Jenkins also ran for 35 yards and a TD while Shomari Lawrence, who leads the team in rushing with 323 yards, also had a scoring run to pull even with Jenkins and fellow sophomore Kejon Owens for first on the club with three touchdowns on the ground.

The model also has taken into account that UTEP was down to its fourth quarterback in its 24-10 loss to Louisiana Tech on Sept. 29 as senior Gavin Hardison missed the contest with tendinitis while junior Kevin Hurley and freshman Jake McNamara exited the game with injuries, leaving sophomore Cade McConnell under center. As a result, the Miners relied on a ground attack that racked up 224 yards, with Deion Hankins leading the way with 83 yards on 15 carries. The junior rushed for 81 yards against the Panthers last year as UTEP outgained FIU 335-15 on the ground en route to the dominant triumph.

Now, the model has set its sights on Wednesday's FIU vs. UTEP matchup. We can tell you it is leaning Over on the total, and it also says one side of the spread hits in nearly 60% of simulations! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any college football picks!
