Dr. Bowers, a Doctor of Physical Therapy currently practicing in the outpatient orthopedic setting on northeast side of Columbus, Ohio, completed his undergraduate work at Siena Heights University. He earned his doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Toledo.

He is currently employed by Athletico Physical Therapy and treats a high volume of high school and collegiate athletes in the clinical setting. He's worked previously for a host of different websites serving as an injury analyst, publishing weekly columns, appearing on podcasts and radio shows to provide injury content.

He's broken down some of the most notable injuries heading into Week 14 and here's what he had to say about James Conner's (shoulder) outlook. 

"Low grade AC joint separations require at least 2-3 weeks to return to play with moderate injuries taking upwards of 5-6 weeks; Grade 5 and Grade 6 injuries require surgery to address the issue," Dr. Bowers said. "Conner logged a limited practice on Wednesday but needs increased practice reps the rest of the week to have any chance of being on the field in Week 14. Re-injury risk the rest of the season is moderate."
