Fantasy Basketball: Waiver wire breakdown for Week 13 of the 2020-21 NBA season
Finding the perfect addition to your Fantasy basketball team via the waiver wire can be the difference between winning your league or going home with nothing. And before you determine which players you should target on the waiver wire this week, you absolutely need to see what SportsLine's NBA Fantasy expert Mike Barner has to say.
Barner is one of the most respected voices in the industry, whose work has appeared in Sports Illustrated and on Yahoo, RotoWire and KFFL. He's also been featured on ESPN Radio. He digs deep into the data, examining team trends and projecting game outcomes. If there's anybody who knows what it takes to win a league, it's him.
Now, he's revealed the best widely available free agents ahead of Week 13. One player Barner is advising Fantasy players to target on the Week 13 waiver wire: Hornets center Cody Zeller, who is available in 61 percent of leagues.
"There's nothing flashy about Zeller, and that's probably why he always seems to be sitting on the waiver wire when you need a big man," Barner said. "With the Hornets scheduled to play four games in Week 13, Zeller isn't someone to sleep on. Not only is he an efficient shooter, but he's provided respectable averages of 9.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists."
Barner has also identified which other players you should target on waivers if you need a jolt for your squad, including a guard available in well over 50 percent of leagues who "made quite a first impression" last week. Anyone who adds this player could hit it BIG.
